Seaham Safety Services Ltd are proud to announce that we are currently assisting Mansell in the implementation of their SHE Site Inspections. We will be working on their behalf for 20 days starting on 24^th March 2011 extending into April 2011.

We are particularly impressed with and are extremely delighted to be part of the Mansell Zero Harm Programme which was launched by their parent company Balfour Beatty. Please see below for further details of the programme.

ZERO HARM

In refusing to accept that accidents are inevitable in construction, Mansell has embraced the Zero Harm programme launched by our parent company Balfour Beatty in 2008.

Our target is to achieve Zero Harm across the company by 2012 and that means:

• Zero fatalities
• Zero injuries to the public
• Zero permanently disabling injuries
• No long term harm to health
• An Accident Frequency Rate (AFR) of less than 0.1 by end of 2012

Mansell’s approach is to embed the Zero Harm principle in all of our processes. The crucial work we have already started on behavioural change, involving not only Mansell employees but also our supply chain partners, will help us make the step-changes necessary to achieve these objectives.

Above all, we’ll be calling on everyone to “Make Safety Personal”.

We will be using a “Zero Harm Journey Plan” to focus our activities and drive improvements. Regular udates on our progress will be published.

Industry Award Winners

The construction industry recognised our commitment to making a step-change in our approach to safety when we won the prestigious Health and Safety (major contractor) category at the Construction News Quality Awards.

The judges were most impressed with the high levels of engagement among the workforce in designing and delivering the MSP programme.

Our brand new state of the art training/conference facilities are now complete. These include two training rooms (both of which are available for external hire) a confined spaces training area and a small meeting room.

West Room

Our West room can accomodate up to 20 people and has a 60 inch high definition, plasma television screen in order to project presentations, videos etc. The room is fully heated and air conditioned. Pictures are available by clicking the link below:

East Room

Our East room is a smaller room suitable for meetings and training sessions for no more than 10 people. This room has a 30 inch high definition television for the use of delivering presentations, vidoes etc. Pictures will be available shortly.

Confined Spaces

We have recently constructed a confined spaces area which will be used for not only our Confined Spaces training but it will also allow delegates attending the 2 Day Site Supervisors and 5 Day Site Managers Safety Training Schemes to gain practical awareness of the use of confined spaces.
