COURSE AIMS
The course aims to prepare individuals for the SMSTS and/or the Supervisor Specialist Skills course. It provides an introduction to Health and Safety, welfare and environmental issues and legal responsibilities relevant to their work.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This course is aimed at first line managers, foremen, gangers, team leaders, supervisors and those who have, or are about to acquire supervisory responsibilities.
COURSE CONTENT
The course will cover the following topics:
- Understanding the problems of the industry
- Health and Safety law and it’s structure
- Identifying supervisory roles and how they fit in with the manager in controlling the site safely
- Risk Assessments and understanding the need for Method Statements
- Site inductions, tool box talks and Method Statement briefings
- Proactive and reactive monitoring
COURSE BENEFITS

The participant will receive a Construction Skills Site Safety Plus Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme certificate on completion.

£275 +VAT per person for scheduled courses held at one of our nationwide venues. (reductions will be given for multiple bookings)
Scheduled courses held at our Seaham office are available at a discounted rate of £230 +VAT per person.
All prices include full colour manuals, candidate registration, exam fees, lunch and refreshements.
We are currently offering a further 10% discount on all Site Safety Plus courses at our Seaham Venue to coincide with the ConstructionSkills Site Safety Plus increased level of grant.
FUNDING
Companies registered and in scope with CITB-ConstructionSkills may be eligible to claim an attendance grant on completion of any of our Site Safety Plus courses.
From the 1st October 2011 – 31st March 2012 CITB-ConstructionSkills are increasing the level of grant from £17.50 per person per day to £52.50.
