COURSE AIMS
The aims of the course are to ensure that the learner is equipped with suitable knowledge both theoretical and practical in the role of fire warden which will enable the learner to facilitate the role of fire warden within their working environment. Allowing your business to meet its statutory provisions and legal compliance under the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order (2005).
COURSE CONTENT
The learning outcomes for the course are:
- Explain the theory of fire chemistry (fire triangle)
- Identify fire classifications
- Describe the importance of fire equipment types and colour coding in line with current BS EN3: 1996 legislation
- Explain fire growth and spread
- Describe the safe operation of handheld fire equipment
- Explain the importance of alarm raising and evacuation procedures
- Actively participate in the conducting of fire drills
- Demonstrate evacuation procedures
- Explain the legal requirement for carrying out fire risk assessments
- Describe the procedures and duties of a fire warden including the carrying out of weekly visual inspections on fire fitting equipment.
COURSE BENEFITS
Following completion of the course theory, delegates will be assessed with a short test of 10 questions relevant to the above topics. On successful completion of the course the test will result in delegates receiving a certificate of instruction for Fire Warden/Marshall Duties and Awareness.
