COURSE AIMS
The course aims to provide the participant with the necessary skills and knowledge required to plan and manage construction projects – from the design concept onwards.
The course details the need for Health and Safety considerations to be treated as an essential, but normal part of a project’s development – not an afterthought.
Designed to give delegates an overview of the legal framework as it relates to construction activities, the course serves as a foundation for further, more specific training in construction.
COURSE CONTENT
The course will cover the following topics:
· Overview of the CDM Regulations 2007 and CDM ACoP
· Understand the problems of working within the construction industry
· Overview of planning and understanding the relevant legislation
· Deciding if the work is notifiable
· Assess whether your particular role or contract is covered by the CDM Regulations 2007
· Guidance on how to select competent contractors
· Guidance on monitoring the contractors
· Overview of how to effectively manage working on site
· Review the job/project and understand what lessons can be learned in mitigation
COURSE BENEFITS
After completing the course participants should be able to plan and manage all safety requirements within any project from its commencement through to completion as well as continuously assess and monitor safety aspects at every stage of the project’s development.
The participant will receive a CDM Regulations training certificate upon completion of the course.
